Here is the Midwest Bracket breakdown courtesy of SportsShare.com!
1 Kansas vs. 16 Portland St. - None of the 1’s should lose. But this game will be the closest of them. Portland St. gives the Jayhawks a scare but still lose by 12. Rock Chawk JayHawk.
8 UNLV vs. 9 Kent St. - Should be a fairly defensive game. I like UNLV to take care of Kent St. in this one. Not much analysis but just one of those picks I like. UNLV!
5 Clemson vs. 12 Villanova - Clemson is everyone’s favorite 5 seed thanks to their run in the ACC tourney. Beating Duke and giving UNC all they can handle. Will the let down be there? Villanova is strange. They win some big games yet lose some cupcakes. In the end I think Clemson has to much pressure for Nova to handle. Clemson wins by 10.
4 Vanderbilt vs. 13 Siena - This game has upset written all over it. Siena is no slouch. Vanderbilt is led by two offensive studs - but they have NO defense at all. High scoring game here and something tells me to take Siena… But since I crave a Clemson/Vanderbilt matchup, I’m taking Vanderbilt in a close one.
6 USC vs. 11 Kansas St. - Michael Beasley is a beast. This game features 2 of the best freshman in NCAA this year. This game is nearly a tossup in my opinion but I think a few Kansas St. guards step up and Kansas St. pulls the 11-6 upset.
3 Wisconsin vs. CSU Fullerton - CSU won the Big West. Wisconsin won the Big Ten. The entire nation is picking Wisconsin but this could be scary. If the Badgers have a “cold” night, CSU will compete. In the end though, the Wisconsin defense is just too tough. Wisconsin wins in a low scoring battle.
7 Gonzaga vs. 10 Davidson - This is the 2nd 7-10 matchup that is very intriguing. The Zags are always here in the tournament. They are no longer Cinderella. Davidson on the other is ROCK solid and steam rolled through their conference. Their only losses are to top 30 teams in the nation. I think Davidson pulls the upset here and continues on.
2 Georgetown vs. 15 UMBC - Gametime, the Hoyas roll with ease.
